I am not a medical expert!

I have been treated very successfully for over 20 years, for the most part, by alternative medical methods

  • Chinese Herbology - the Chinese art of combining medicinal herbs and includes the basic theory of Chinese materia medica, (generally replaced with the term pharmacology) “crude medicine,” “prepared drug in slices” and traditional Chinese patent medicines and simple preparations.
  • Homeopathy – first expounded by German physician Samuel Hahnemann in 1796, that treats patients with heavily diluted preparations which are thought to cause effects similar to the symptoms presented.
  • Naturopathy - an eclectic alternative medical system that focuses on natural remedies and the body’s vital ability to heal and maintain itself. Naturopathic philosophy favors a holistic approach and minimal use of surgery and drugs.
  • Ayurveda - uses herbs, massage, and Yoga and exercise as an alternative medicine. Ayurveda believes in five great elements – earth, water, fire, air and space – composing the Universe, including the human body. Ayurveda stresses a balance of three substances: wind(spirit/air), phlegm, and bile, each representing divine forces and incorporates an entire system of dietary recommendations.

On these pages, I am beginning a list of ailments for which there are treatments under one or more of these modalities.  They are not intended as an end all and be all for the treatment of such ailments, but as I consider Traditional Western Medicine as lacking in completeness and oriented toward treating symptoms and so not a whole treatment, I offer this information as viable alternatives to accepted standards.
